Message from Allison Sternad:
Helping to ensure that my children, and their children, have a healthy future in a sustainable world, is something that I am very passionate about. I am cognizant in my daily choices and strive to make an impact that will positively influence future generations. I am thankful and proud to be living part of that mission through my work at Melink.
Over the last couple of years I've become increasingly aware of this global organization, SonLight Power, whose mission is to use solar power to share God's love with the world's most vulnerable children, families and communities. More specifically, SonLight organizes mission trips to bring electricity through the installation of solar panels to impoverished areas of the world. Imagine being a doctor in Honduras, conducting a life-saving operation on a small child - and the power goes out. Or a student in Haiti, working hard to study for college, who has to hike miles from her home, in the dark, into town so she can study under the light of a street lamp because her home doesn't have power. Sadly, something as basic as electricity, is something you and I completely take for granted while the people I've described have little to no access to it. At the most basic human level, shouldn't everyone have access to something so critical, like electricity? This is why SonLight's mission is so impactful.
As a mission driven company, our work is far more than just focusing on profits. We envision clean energy transforming the world by improving our global economy, security and environment – for ourselves, our children and future generations. Over the last year Melink and SonLight Power have been developing a strategic partnership because our values are so closely aligned. Through this partnership, a group of Melink employees has teamed up with SonLight Power to plan a mission trip. Our goal is to experience and extend the impact that SonLight is making in energy-insecure countries like Haiti, Honduras, Puerto Rico, and others. I'm couldn’t be more excited to be given this opportunity to help advance SonLight's mission.
So, we would like you, our friends, family, and community to be involved as well! In order to achieve the level of lasting impact that we're committed to, it takes a tremendous amount of resources. I invite you to consider making a financial commitment to help my group meet our goals so we can travel and leverage our expertise by installing a solar system in Honduras. Not only do we want to make a big impact for a small community by giving them electricity - we're aiming to do it in a clean and sustainable way.
Thank you in advance for considering my invitation. I am committed to making the world a better place not just for my children and grandchildren, but for all future generations. I hope you can join me in doing so.
